Biography

Laura is a Research and Operations Assistant based in the Usher Institute at the University of Edinburgh. She is part of the Respiratory PPI Platform team and regularly facilitates meetings, interacting with patient and public members and researchers, to address key research questions. Laura also supports and drives forward the operational aspects of the Platform.

Laura’s background in teaching and her people’s skills have proven invaluable in our collaboration with children and young people members, as well as adult public members.

Laura currently supports Community Engagement and Involvement for the NIHR Global Health Research Unit on Respiratory Health (RESPIRE),  the HDRUK Inflammation and Immunity Driver Programme and the EVITA trial  Home - Evaluation of Intravenous Therapy in Asthma. Additionally, she is involved in Dr Olivia Swann’s Homes, Heat and Healthy Kids Study | Usher Institute just to name a few projects, and regularly offers support to Usher colleagues who may be new to the operational side of PPI.
