My research interests concern the molecular basis of quantitative traits, and ways to integrate different kinds of genomic data in animal genetics. During my PhD and postdoc at Linköping University, Sweden, I worked on expression quantitative trait locus analysis and population genomics in the chicken. I discovered new candidate genes for differences in bone traits and fearful behaviour between domestic chickens and Red Jungefowl, and also for adaptation in feral chickens. My postdoc at the Roslin Institute and the Swedish Unversity of Agricultural Sciences is financed by a mobility grant from the Swedish research council Formas. I am currently working on causative gene identification and deleterious load in pigs. We are working with Genus PIC to assemble a very large dataset for genomic analysis. I will use genomic methods to analyse deleterious variants in this dataset.
