My research in a nutshell

The causes and mitigation of air pollution and its impacts on human health and ecoystems.

Current Research Interests

My research interests are in the measurement and modelling of atmospheric composition, terrestrial surface-atmosphere fluxes and air pollution. Specific areas of interest include:

  • High-resolution modelling of atmospheric chemistry, with particular focus on ozone, particulate matter and reactive-N, to understand current and potential future impacts on atmospheric composition and on human health burdens;
  • Characterization of airborne PM to determine its sources and atmospheric chemical evolution;
  • Fluxes of trace gases from terrestrial systems such as forests and bioenergy crops.

Teaching

Previously, lectures & tutorials in environmental and atmospheric chemistry, statistics and sampling for analytical chemistry, and general physical chemistry.

Administrative Roles

Previously, Chair of School of Chemistry Board of Examiners, Course and Degree Programme Organiser, Postgraduate Advisor.
