Dr. Jansen is a medical biologist and principal investigator at the Centre for Cardiovascular Science of the University of Edinburgh and manager of Edinburgh Preclinical Imaging, a state-of-the-art preclinical imaging facility housing 4 imaging modalities: high-field MRI, ultrasound, optical imaging and micro PET/CT imaging. He has established preclinical MRI facilities at Utrecht and Edinburgh. Dr Jansen has over 20 years of experience conducting preclinical research studies. He has used a wide range of MR imaging and spectroscopy methods in animal models of disease as well as ex vivo human organs. His interests include optimisation and validation of novel diagnostic imaging methods and exploration of imaging biomarkers.
