Databases and large-scale data management systems: in-database learning, stream processing, incremental computation, query compilation

Biography

Milos Nikolic is a lecturer in the School of Informatics at the University of Edinburgh. Milos' research interests are in the areas of data management and stream processing systems, incremental computation, machine learning, and compilers.

My work studies the incremental computation of complex analytical queries, such as SQL queries, linear algebra programs, and in-database machine learning tasks, in local and distributed streaming environments using novel approaches to query optimization and compilation. Before joining Edinburgh, I was a departmental lecturer in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Oxford. I received a Ph.D. in Computer Science from EPFL.
