I'm a professor in the School of Informatics at the University of Edinburgh. I'm affiliated with the Institute for Communicating and Collaborative Systems and the Human Communication Research Centre.
My research focuses on probabilistic learning techniques for natural language understanding and generation. I am interested in the general problem of extracting semantic information from large volumes of text.
