Biography

Nicola Crowe is a PhD candidate in Advanced Care with Integrated Study, based within the University of Edinburgh's Advanced Care Research Centre. Prior to commencing her PhD, Nicola graduated from the University of Edinburgh with an MA (Hons) in Politics in 2022 and an MSc in Korean Studies in 2023. She also worked for 6 months as a Research Assistant at the University of Dundee, where she delivered the Careers Service's 'Disability and Employability Research Project'.

Nicola is skilled with qualitative research, and has experience with mixed methods and interdisciplinary working. Her main research interests are perceptions and experiences of disability and illness - with a particular focus on neurodiversity and autism, and ranging topics including ageing, stigmatisation, and social participation.
