Research Interests

My primary research interests are in the fields of Quantum Cryptography, Quantum Computation and Quantum Information Theory. A list of topics that I am working:

- Quantum Key Distribution, Quantum Digital Signatures and Quantum Random Number Generators. Security and Implementations 

- Device Independent and Relativistic Quantum Cryptography

- Blind Quantum Computation and Secure Multiparty Quantum Computation

- Post-Quantum Cryptography

- Verification of Quantum Computation and of Quantum Simulation

- Quatum Algorithms for NISQ devices

 - Alternative models of Quantum Computation

- Properties of Quantum Mechanics for Quantum Information Tasks. Quantum non-locality and optimal quantum measurements.

In the past I have also worked on the Foundations of Quantum Mechanics and Quantum Gravity.

Petros Wallden is Lecturer in the School of Informatics at the University of Edinburgh, member of the Laboratory for Foundations of Computer Science (LFCS), of the Security and Privacy Group and the Quantum Informatics Group. He is also member of the organising team of the Quantum Information Scotland Network (QUISCO). Dr. Wallden obtained a Masters Degree in Mathematics from University of Cambridge and his PhD in Physics form Imperial College. Since then he held a number of postdoctoral positions (Raman Research Institute, University of Athens, Heriot-Watt University) before joining Informatics, Edinburgh as a Research Associate in 2014 and as a Lecturer in 2018. 

His principal research interests are in the fields of Quantum Cyber Security, Quantum Computation and Quantum Information Theory.
