INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC COMMITTEES AND PANELS

Since 2013: Working Group for “Integrated Southern Ocean Latitudinal Transects (ISOLAT)’ ECORD, IODP. To facilitate and coordinate the efforts for a giant piston coring campaign in the Southern Ocean as part of IMAGES II.

Since 2010: European Partnership in Polar Climate Science funded by ESF through a consortia of 22 European scientists across 8 countries called HOLOCLIP (Holocene climate variability at high-southern latitudes: an integrated perspective).

 

2009-12: The Nitrogen Cycle in the Oceans, Past and Present (NICOPP). Working group sponsored by both PAGES and IMAGES to understand changes and sensitivity of the Global Nitrogen Cycle to climate Change.

Since 2008-11: International GEOTRACES programme (SCOR/IGBP; see www.geotraces.org) through UK GEOTRACES.

2007-2009: 10+10 Polar Ocean Climate Change groupfunded jointly by the French Embassy-London and the British Council.

Since 2007-2011: UK NERC; Peer Review College. Responsible for reviewing funding applications

2006-2011: UK NERC; Radiocarbon Laboratory (RCL) Steering Committee. We are responsible overseeing the NERC’s Accelerator Mass Spectrometer facilities at East Kilbride and Oxford and reviewing facility proposals for radiocarbon dating and other applications.

2004-2008: IMAGES Working Group; Equatorial Pacific Coring Campaign. Research Vessel Marion Dufresne under the auspices of IMAGES which lead to the successful funding of Galapagos-Equatorial Pacific Coring Expedition (GALOPER).

2003-2008: SCOR/lMAGES, focus group 'LINKS' (Analyzing the links between present oceanic processes and paleo-records)

2002-2003: "Planning Committee on the Future of Global Change Ocean Research" set up jointly by IGBP & SCOR. This committee consisting of a dozen leading international marine scientists to draft a “Framework for Future Research on Biological and Chemical Aspects of Global Change in the Ocean".

2000-2003 Palaeo-JGOFS Task Team (PJTT)This is a joint initiative by IGBP Core projects, PAGES / IMAGES and JGOFS, to

2000-2002 International research expedition for MONA (Marges Ouest Amerique du Nord or Margins of North America) Marion Dufresne under the auspices of IMAGES.
