Personal profile

Current Research Interests

My research explores the different ways in which nature matters: as a material and economic resource, as part of our cultures and identities, and as a community of beings beyond humankind.

Academics typically refer to this field as 'environmental values'. My work combines environmental philosophy (understanding different concepts of value) with human geography (understanding how places matter to people). Recent fieldwork locations include Chile, Spain and the USA, zooming in on topics like agriculture, reservoirs and coexistence with wild carnivores.
