My research in a nutshell

My group investigates how genetic risk factors for neurodevelopmental disorders influence the development and function of large-scale brain networks, and how these changes relate to social and emotional behaviour, sleep, epilepsy, and autonomic physiology. Using rodent models, we study how alterations in brain circuits give rise to clinically relevant features across development, with a particular focus on identifying neural and physiological markers that translate across species. Ultimately, this work aims to bridge the gap between biological mechanisms and measurable outcomes that can support improved diagnosis and treatment.

My core teaching focuses on neuroscience across both undergraduate Biomedical and Medical Sciences programmes and taught postgraduate degrees.
