Current Research Interests

My areas of research interest are higher education futures, interdisciplinary approaches to researching digital education and digital pedagogy. Alongside colleagues, I work at the forefront of new practices in digital teaching. My research is informed by interdisciplinary approaches and is particularly concerned with datafication, digital cultures and the need to work against the idea of digital education as technology driven.

I am Director of the Centre for Research in Digital Education and am Director of Education for the Edinburgh Futures Institute.

I am interested in taking PhD students who are interested in critical approaches to digital education: if you are looking to do such a programme, please get in touch.
