Description

The John Hurst Memorial Prize was set up by the Medieval Settlement Research Group in honour of the late John Hurst, who did so much to promote the field of medieval archaeology and in particular the study of medieval settlement. New and young scholars in the field are invited to present a fifteen-minute paper on any theme related to medieval landscape and settlement in the British Isles or Europe. The best paper is awarded a prize of £200, with the winner invited to submit a short article based on their paper for inclusion in Medieval Settlement Research journal.
