Academic Networking Fund - Edinburgh Environmental Humanities Network

The aim of this project was to develop the reach of the recently established Edinburgh Environmental Humanities network (EEHN) by equipping its members with the skills needed to make innovative contributions to the Environmental Humanities. To accomplish this, the project team ran four workshop events focusing on different aspects of practice: teaching (December); writing (February); creating (May); and collaborating (June). Each event included prominent UK and international scholars and used a range of participatory formats.

The profile of EEHN has also been boosted by the activities funded by IAD. This is evidenced by the fact that, in part due to the activities undertaken this past academic year, IASH has agreed to host two Environmental Humanities Visiting Fellows per year from 2015-16. The first visiting fellow will arrive from University of British Columbia in September 2015; the second from Bath Spa in June 2016. Both are internationally-renowned centres for Environmental Humanities studies, which demonstrates the heightened regard for Edinburgh within the global field.
