Project Details
Description
Project comprises of a number of works to be sited at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh which respond to the damage done at the gardens during Cyclone Andrea in 2012. My work, a collaborative cast iron work "Cloud Dialogue" with Ewan Robertson, will be adapted, reconfigured and augmented to complement the Glass House siting at the Royal Botanic Garden with install planned for March 2017.
This is one of a number of artworks that will be created by artists who are part of ECA lecturing staff. After the Storm is a large project instigated by the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh (RBGE). It involves a broad range of contributors, artists, designers and partnerships with Edinburgh College of Art, The Forestry Commission and the Scottish Association of Furniture Makers.
The project centres on trees that were blown down during Cyclone Andrea in RBGE in 2012 and it explores the notions of trauma and regeneration.
ECA staff and students are involved in a series of exhibitions responding to this theme.
