Project Details

Description

This proposal is for a short project that will assist with the development of a proposal aimed at improving the help received by children across the UK who are vulnerable to neglect of their developmental needs. The primary means to do this will be by the establishment of centre of excellence in the UK that will be known as the UK Neglect Observatory. There are a number of such national and international observatories and they are recognised as an effective way to coordinate research, practice and policy development in relation to complex issues. The first five years of the UK Neglect Observatory will be built around a large-scale research project that will focus on changing practice with neglected children and their families for the better.
