Project Details

Description

The lack of educational access is one of Brazil's leading indicators of social inequality, with the Northern region as the main area affected. This project aims to generate spaces for collective thinking, creative definitions and promotion of praxis concerning radical pedagogies. Two workshops will be carried out in Northern Brazil – at the quilombo Mocambo and the indigenous community of Xokó – and at the University of Edinburgh to facilitate knowledge exchange between traditional communities, activists, academics and the Brazilian government about the potential of transnational solidarity to develop and promote educational materials and guidelines, aiming to achieve, ultimately, educational justice and policy change.
