Project Details
Description
Interdiscipline study, funded bY UKERC. Examined historical and actual industrial analogues for CCS components in technology chain. Using history to understand blockages and enablers in developing new capture systems linked to pipelines and storage and a business that works.
Key findings
Most big innovations have been based around a core of state investment to get started. Technologies develop best and tastes if brought in from other sectors, or when they are clearly signed and legislated. The present approach, of using the market alone, is an unprecedented experiment, with no easy path to success.
