Causes of change in European mean and extreme climate over the past 500 years

Project Details

Layman's description

We determine what caused changes in European climate over the past few hundred years

Key findings

Solar forcing plays only a minor role over the last millennium (publication submitted). A substantial fraction of climate change over the past few hundred year can be clearly associated with external influences. The residual climate variability shows trends that are smaller than those over the past 50 or 60 years.
