Community Researchers – Researcher insights from beyond the university

Project Details

Description

This project investigates of the experiences and insights of people outside universities who have been involved in research projects in collaboration with the research team.
For project participants ‘involved’ means that they acted as researchers, rather than simply as research participants (/respondents/interlocuters). We are broadly categorising them as ‘community researchers’. This encompasses a range of different categories including ‘practitioner researchers’, ‘peer researchers’, ‘community embedded researchers’ etc. One of the key things that we are interested to find out is how they understood/categorised their roles and identities themselves, and how they evaluate the inputs provided by their university-based colleagues.
Eleven projects, with a range of different community researcher roles and university-based researcher inputs have been identified.
