Project Details

Description

Golden eagles in Japan are in decline across their native range. As part of the conservation response, a captive breeding programme for golden eagle has been established in Japanese zoos. This project led by PhD student Yu Sato is employing a range of traditional and next-generation molecular approaches to investigate wild and captive population diversity to inform ongoing management efforts. The work includes genome sequencing of the Japanese sub-species of golden eagle.
