Data-Driven Innovation Development Strategies in the City-Region: Making an Impact through the Opportunity Areas Analysis Tool

Building on our research developing Opportunities Areas Analysis Tool (OAAT), this project aims to address challenges faced by businesses and communities during post-pandemic recovery. Partnering with the three local authorities across the Lothian, part of the Edinburgh and South-East Scotland City Region Deal, this timely intervention supports strategic alignment of place-based visions to help realise data-driven innovation opportunities in the next decade. We will deploy the OAAT in order to tackle local concerns, such as changing demographics and economic stagnation, generate long lasting impact by co-creating new place-based innovation strategies, and demonstrate use of OAAT as a policy instrument.
