Development of the STEP Digital Families learning app for iOS devices

The STEP Learning app is a private use app for teachers and students that are part of the Digital Families Programme.

The STEP learning app has been designed to mitigate against the challenges that are faced by children from travelling families when learning at home. Unfamiliarity with tablet devices and low confidence using digital technology for learning has left many families unable to support their children. Free to download for iOS, the design of the app has aimed to create a simple interface where basic tools for learning are brought together within the app. Learners can plan, write, draw, photograph and link to all their work tasks. They can easily communicate with their teacher or learning helper and send their finished work.
