Description
Dialecty is a three-year research project which will examine the uses of vernacular forms of language as valid, international critical writing. It consists of workshops, a series of publication and a touring performance work.
The project is concerned with the following three questions
1. Is it possible to ‘score’ dialect, rather in the way one can score music?
2. What are the uses of demotic forms of writing, and speaking, within international critical writing fora?
3. How far can the syntax of demotic language be disassembled, in a performative context, before all meaning is lost?
This project is in collaboration with The Common Guild, Glasgow and Book Works, London.
