Edinburgh Fluid Dynamics Group

Project Details

The Edinburgh Fluid Dynamics Group aims to promote a sustainable culture of cooperation and leadership in fluid mechanics research within the University of Edinburgh.

Fluid mechanics is relevant to a wide variety of fields including, for instance, acoustics, bio-medicine, aerodynamics, engines, air/sea/land vehicles, renewable energy, weather systems, floods, fires, cosmology, and astrophysics.

At Edinburgh University there are more than 70 academics and several hundreds of postgraduate researchers across the Colleges of Science & Engineering and Medicine & Veterinary Medicine who conduct research in fluid mechanics.

The group aims to provide coordination or leadership to deploy these intellectual resources to win large cooperative funding bids.
