Fleming Fund Fellowship Scheme: Uganda Professional Fellowships Cohort 2

The Fleming Fund is a £265M UK Government fund started in 2018 to provide support for capacity building in the surveillance of antimicrobial resistance in low and middle income countries. The Fund is channelled through the Department for Health and Social Care, and managed by Mott MacDonald. The Fleming Fund has three main funding streams – Regional Grants, Country Grant and the Fellowship Scheme – and operates in four geographical regions – Western Africa, Southern and Eastern Africa, South-East Asia and South Asia.

The University of Edinburgh is a Host Institution for the fellowship schemes, providing training and mentorship to professional and policy fellows in Uganda, Kenya and Malawi. In collaboration with their mentors, fellows develop bespoke workplans, involving training both in Edinburgh and in their home countries.
