Going ballistic – Identifying cranial sling shot injuries in prehistoric Europe

Project Details

The project - funder by a Munro Research Grant - for the first time identifies the range of cranial injuries caused by slings through experimental slinging using ballistics testing materials. Positively identifying sling shot injuries allows for a reassessment of slings as powerful and potentially ubiquitous weapons of violence in prehistory.
