Ireland remains the least forested European country but its literature is rich in arboreal representation. LIT aims to find new ways of understanding trees through the literary imagination. Led by Stephen O’Neill, in partnership with Crann: Trees for Ireland, the project will establish a research network, host a public lecture series “Literary Lives of Trees” featuring writers and arborists, and produce a creative exhibition and a publication.
