Project Details

Description

This study will undertake an evaluation of the NSPCC intervention Speak Out: School Safe. The intervention is delivered across the UK and involves NSPCC staff and volunteers coming into primary schools to deliver a brief intervention to children aged between 6-10yrs. The intervention is designed to improve children's knowledge of situations relating to maltreatment and bullying, and to support the children to feel confident to speak to someone should they feel unsafe. The evaluation will involve:
- a comparison of the outcomes for children before and after the deliver of the intervention
- a comparison of the outcomes for children who receive the intervention compared to similar children in similar schools who do not receive the intervention
- a process evaluation of the experience of pupils and staff of being involved in the intervention and its benefits
- an economic evaluation of the cost effectiveness and cost benefit of the intervention
