Description
DTI-funded project on field trials for the Statistical Reservoir model. 5 new fields were analysed from the North Sea. Project partners were VIPS Ltd, who carried out geo-mechanical modelling of the same fields, and Reservoir Dynamics Ltd, who worked on the interpretation of the results.
Layman's description
Field trials of the statistical reservoir model - establishing connections between well pairs in producing oilfields and developing predictive models for their response to water injection.
Key findings
The SRM found long-range correlations that could only be caused by geomechanical responses, confirmed independently by physical modelling.
