Project Details

Description

The funds will be used to to construct two 20 second “explainer-type” animations for two episodes in an R Shiny app that I am working on. The animations will contextualize the statistical and data visualization principles underlying each episode. For example, in the first episode, the importance of central tendency, confidence intervals and histograms will be portrayed within the story of chocolate chip biscuits and biscuit monsters. This resource will be valuable to students across the University who need to analyse data but do not have formal training in statistics and data visualization. The most recent version of the app can be found here: https://bayesiannetworks.shinyapps.io/taking_the_biscuit/
The funds were provided from the School of Geosciences.
