Spaces and Practices of Welcome

Project Details

Project Description: The spaces and practices of welcome is a research project commissioned by the College of Humanities and Social Science seeking to inform the college-wide student recruitment strategy in particular the June 14th Open Day. With a combination of architectural and social research methods we seek to unpack the articulation of ‘fit’ between school and prospective student as an implicit ‘match-making’ process communicated in the practices of welcome. Further to investigate the creation of a hearth for subject areas by identifying thresholds, interior/exterior design and access through routes, signage strategy and Nolli maps to evaluate the spaces of welcome.
