Table Ronde on Ancient Slavery

The project brought together scholars of ancient slavery who work in different cultural niches to discuss past and future research agendas - especially colleagues involved with the 'Forschungen' (based at the Mainz Academy) and colleagues from the Anglophone world. The meeting was held in Edinburgh, 14-16 September 2007. The meeting was structured around 14 research papers in three main research areas: a) historiography of the subject, b) archaeological evidence, c) slavery studies and the debate on the economy.
