Key findings

This work is ongoing and outputs are not yet finalised. The project has analysed the metabolome of African trypanosomes using RNAi mediated gene silencing to create mutant cell lines, the phenotypes of which have been used to model trypanosome metabolism using a systems biology approach including mathematical modelling.
Additionally, the postdoctoral researcher associated with the project has made a key discovery that will have importance for the understanding of trypanosome developmental signalling and is expected to secure a high profile publication.
