Abstract
α decay measurements for Os, W, and W are presented. Os was produced via fusion evaporation of a 270 MeV Ni beam on a Cd target and then implanted in a doubled-sided silicon strip detector (DSSD). The Os-W α-decay mother-daughter correlation was then studied. W was directly populated in a similar experiment with a Pd target. Using the measurements obtained for Os [E=6600(3) keV, t=1.9(2) ms], W [E=6445(3) keV, t=1.5(2) ms, b=96(6)%], and W [E=8286(7) keV, t=0.14(2) ms], α-reduced widths were calculated.
