Abstract / Description of output

"Introduction to Hermeneutics" is an excellent textbook of hermeneutics suitable for undergraduates and graduate students. The enlightening and open style in the book meets the needs of teaching discussions. Hermeneutics originated from the interpretation of the Bible, and gradually developed to face the broader meaning of the text, forming a knowledge that pursues "understanding" and "interpretation". The book has a brief and clear introduction to the development history of the origin period, and portrays the creation of "universal hermeneutics" by Schleiermacher in the 19th century, through the creation of modern interpretations by masters such as Heidegger, Gadamer, and Rico. The development of science also introduces liberation theology, post-colonial theory, feminism, feminism, reader response theory and postmodern thoughts related to 21st century hermeneutics. The book uses a large number of Bible study examples to illustrate the importance of hermeneutics, and in the conclusion it returns to the sacred authority of the Bible as the source of truth, and combines biblical studies and hermeneutics to lead readers into a rich world of hermeneutics.
