10.2 Gb/s visible light communication with off-the-shelf LEDs

Abstract

10 Gb/s data rate is demonstrated experimentally for optical communication using three inexpensive off-the-shelf LEDs for the first time. An OFDM-based wavelength division multiplexing structure is used for efficiently utilizing the available bandwidth of the LEDs.
