Abstract

In the crystal structure of the title compound, C6H6IN, each 2-iodoaniline molecule forms part of three extended helices. Each helix exhibits a different intermolecular interaction, viz. weak N-H center dot center dot center dot N hydrogen bonds with an H center dot center dot center dot N distance of 2.31 (11) angstrom, I center dot center dot center dot I interactions of 3.7986 (15) angstrom and C-H center dot center dot center dot pi contact distances of 2.53 angstrom.
