A 128×96 pixel event-driven phase-domain ΔΣ-based fully digital 3D camera in 0.13μm CMOS imaging technology

Abstract

A 128x96 pixel, 44.65µm pitch, fully digital 3D camera SOC in 0.13µm CMOS imaging technology is reported. Each pixel comprises a Single Photon Avalanche Diode and Phase Domain ΔΣ loop for on-chip computation of distance. 3D images are obtained at 20fps with sub-16cm repeatability error and +/-0.5cm linearity over 0.4-2.4m at significantly reduced system power and processing cost.
