Abstract

This paper reviews the research completed in the field of Occupant Energy Behaviour (OEB), examines the previous research findings and methodologies in order to identify gaps and suitable methodological approaches in understanding OEB in Passivhaus for better energy efficiency. The research suggests that Passivhaus as a new housing typology, its socio-cultural, socio-economic and socio-technical groundings would need to be reconsidered from empirical data, and would benefit from more qualitative research into the field.
