Abstract
This paper has been written as an initial attempt to explore the possibilities of creating a framework to support future developments in primary physical education. However, before presenting a framework that seeks to connect primary physical education with contemporary and future educational agendas, we discuss three underpinning issues we believe to be of particular importance to the long term development of this framework. While the paper is written primarily from a UK perspective, we suggest the framework will be applicable in different contexts across the world.
