A gentle going? An autoethnographic short story

This article tells the story of the death of the author's father in 2003. It recounts tales of his life, his last days, and his funeral. Among other things, it may be a story of loss, of disability, of illness, of families, of masculinity, and of Englishness. Central, however is a relationship between a father and a son.
