Abstract

Glucocorticoid excess causes obesity and diabetes, in this new work we have discovered that glucocorticoids do not directly alter glucose appearance or uptake or the breakdown of fat tissue in humans, but instead mediate these effects through key interactions with the other critical hormones insulin and adrenaline in humans.
