Abstract / Description of output

In the growing discourse of Islam and evolution, some have contended that the miraculous creation accounts of Adam and Eve conflict with what we know of human evolution. By adopting Ash?ari theology as my framework, I argue against this thesis through an integrated ramified account. This includes looking at the placement of miracles and laws of nature in Ash?ari theology, some developments in philosophy of science, and the role of Adam and Eve in theology and that the miraculous creations of Adam and Eve do not conflict with or undermine the science of human evolution.
