A film for a live performance with violin and live electronics.

A sonic/visual response to the complexity of existence, landscapes, bodies, and time. A collaboration between:

1) composer Dimitis Papageorgiou
(The mother city; white, blank, nonexistent, like the body of the dancer, the body of the possible - Composition for violin and electronics inspired by Michel Serres's book "Genesis").

and 2) video-choreographer Sophia Lycouris
(Garden as poem, human presence attuned within it - Video inspired by Ian Hamilton Finlay's garden project "Little Sparta", and filmed on location, http://www.littlesparta.org.uk).


This work was commissioned by the University of Edinburgh and Royal Conservatoire of Scotland for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2014. It was presented in five performances at the Cow Barn theatre, between 11 and 15 August 2014 in Edinburgh, Scotland as part of a group performance entitled "The Heavenly View".
