Abstract / Description of output
This short article examines the occurrence of the genitive case after the simple preposition seach ‘past, beyond’ in a number of Irish texts from the middle of the seventeenth century onwards. Using the evidence of the Royal Irish Academy’s Historical Irish Corpus 1600–1926, it is demonstrated that this linguistic feature can be associated with a group of texts belonging to an area stretching from south-west Ulster and north-east Connacht to northern Offaly and into Tipperary.
