Abstract
BRUCE Vivash Jones' paraphrasing might suggest I impute a purely business motive to the BSAVA founders. That is not the case. The extra detail provided by Jones, as one who was there at the time, is interesting as always, but does not change the point which was in the context of the research commentary, in which my paper on the development of British small animal practice was cited.1 The BSAVA was shown the relevant text before publication, when I approached it regarding the loan of a photograph, and no objections were raised.
