Abstract
This chapter introduces the purposes, focus, and methods of process evaluation and explores some issues in the application of process evaluation using examples from two research projects. These issues include the boundary between formative and process evaluation; the impact of ongoing change during implementation of an intervention; and the development of relationships at fieldwork sites.
