Abstract / Description of output

This exhibition celebrates and showcases Mal Burkinshaw's 'Silhouettes en Dentelle Lace Series Jackets from Beauty by Design in collaboration with Sophie Hallette. The exhibition takes place at the Shanghai Museum of Textile and Costume, allowing a new cultural dialogue about the topical issues relating to fashion design and beauty. The exhibition showcases key prints of portraits from the Scottish National Portrait Gallery and also displays a narrative of the house of Sophie Hallette, the famous lace makers based in Caudry, France. In addition to designing the exhibits, Mal is co-curator of the exhibition with his PhD Student Zhe Wang.
