Abstract
The work addresses research gap in association with strengthening of reinforced concrete (RC) structures by carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) strips, through investigating the torsional behavior of RC multi-cell girders after strengthening by means of experimental measurements and numerical modelling. The confined concrete model taking into consideration expansion effect has been incorporated into the analytical model, which proved to be effective in provide very good estimates of strain and stresses developed in the CFRP strips. The work contributes significantly towards refinement of FIB-14 (2001), the only torsional design guideline available for concrete members strengthened with fiber composites.
